Albert Kobler was born 3/21/1893 in Penokee, Kansas. Albert married Anna Jane Davis on 6/28/1916 in Phillipsburg, KS. He died 3/13/1977 at Hadley Regional Medical Center in Hays, Kansas.
Albert and Anna had five children:

Anna Jane (Davis) Kobler Obituary
Anna Jane Kobler, 82, passed away Saturday, July 7, at the Graham County Hospital in Hill City. She was a pharmacist, and she and her husband operated a drug store in Morland for over 50 years.
She was a member of the Morland Methodist Church and the O.E.S. No. 400.
She is survived by her husband, Albert J., of the home; four daughters, Mrs. Irv (LaVergne) Hardman and Mrs. Gene (Phyllis) Madden, Hill City; Mrs. Ruben (Lorrayne) Deines, WaKeeney; Mrs. Robert (Margaret) Rath, Morland; one son, Dr. Carl D. Kobler, Hill City; two sisters, Mrs. O. J. Rohner, Albany, Oregon; Mrs. Wilbur Arasmith, Densmore; two brothers, George T. Davis, Richland, Washington; Leslie Davis, Riverside, California; 21 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the United Methodist Church in Morland at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, with the Reverend Delbert L. Honn officiating. Music was furnished by Rev. Darrell Hendrickson with Mrs. James Taber at the organ.
Casket bearers were: Blaine Hardman, Kevin Kobler, Tim Rath, Mark Madden, Tom Deines, and Bob Super.
Honorary bearers were: Doug Hardman, Philip Rath, Alan Deines, Carl Davis Kobler Jr., John F. Kobler and Kelly Madden.
Interment was in the Hill City Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Morland United Methodist Church or the Kansas Heart Fund.
Correction on Granddad Albert Kobler’s passing: He was at the Hadley Regional Medical Center in Hays, Kansas, when he died. He wasn’t in Morland.

Well, that’s not Carl and Elma Kobler!
When I first became interested in genealogy, I began exchanging emails with a distant cousin. The names Carl and Elma Kobler caught both of our attention and we soon had swapped some information. Many of the basic facts were identical … descendant of John F. Kobler, from Penokee, Kansas, etc. However, the birth and death dates were entirely wrong, so we attempted to correct each other’s erroneous family trees. How could this information have become so skewed between the records from two branches of the family tree for what was obviously the exact same couple? Those emails were the source of much anxiety between cousins. However, further investigation eventually divulged the existence of two different couples named Carl and Elma Kobler. The irony of two closely related Carl Koblers who both married women named Elma is undeniably peculiar. Let the record show that Carl D. and Elma Kobler (son of Albert and Anna) in one of the photos above, is the nephew of Carl L. and Elma Kobler (son of John F. Kobler). Hopefully, this revelation can fend off any future family feuds.
The picture above entitled “Albert and Anna 50th Anniversary” is not of that occasion. The picture was taken at the First United Methodist Church in WaKeeney. Possibly at the wedding of Alan and Susan Kirby Deines. The reason I know this is I recognized both the stained glass windows and my father’s first cousin Ella and her husband Rubin Fabrizius.
