Olive Kobler Photo Album

The following photos all came from Olive Kobler Steeples’ album, handed down to Donna Steeples Childs. These photos were all scanned by Kathi Duncan, the mother of Donna’s daughter in law. Thank you to Donna for sharing these photos and Kathi for taking the time to scan them!

Many of these photos were taken during the 1915 World Fair trip. Many others are unknown. Text on the back of photos is also provided. I will add descriptions for these photos as information is provided and as time allows.

Gee, this is an amazing collection. Thanks to all for your effort to put it here for all to enjoy. I can see messages to Grandmother and Granddad from Aunt Olive when they were in the hospital in Oregon with the typhoid fever. Aunt Olive, Uncle Ray and Mom all came back on train. I believe they stayed in Hill city with the Kobler Grandparents. So many other pictures I recognize as taken on the trip to California, but most of the people I do not recognize. One of a bunch of young men eating something (ice cream is my guess, since they used to make homemade ice cream on Sunday’s in the summer) I see Uncle Leo on the far left and Uncle Otto on the left, front.
Really fun to look at and guess. Thanks, again. Lois Steeples Settles
